Nicola Caricola, managing director and former professional football player from Italy, established Nicaf Traders in 2005 with the initial goal of bringing true Italian Espresso Culture and Lavazza to South Africa. Through his passion for coffee, patience, experience and success, this vision has grown and developed further after discovering a need in the market and creating a reputation to make it possible.

Nicaf Traders officially started trading in September 2005, focusing exclusively on the Lavazza Blue System. Since then the strength of our brand has ensured a phenomenally successful growth pattern. The brand acceptance spans all markets segments with our positioning strategy aimed at Lavazza being the number one choice for the discerning coffee drinker.

Our growth and development in this time has been exponential and exciting and we foresee a continuation of this trend as we develop our branches in Cape Town, Johannesburg and Durban as well as Port Elizabeth, Garden Route and Bloemfontain.

Next to Lavazza products, Nicaf is also the proud authorized importer and distributor of: Ronnefeldt Teas and La Cimbali Espresso Machines.
